Presentation

Overview

Presentation software turns a collection of ideas into a visual story that an audience can follow slide by slide. Whether you are pitching a business plan, summarising a science project, or delivering a school assembly, the way you structure, format, and animate your slides determines how well your message lands.

In this lesson you will learn how to build a master slide that keeps every page consistent, insert and format text, images, buttons, and hyperlinks, apply animation and transition effects with purpose, and print your work in the formats Edexcel expects you to know for the exam.

Objectives

  1. Create a template/master slide: placeholders, footer, slide number, background, font enhancements
  2. Create slides: insert text, images, action buttons, hyperlinks; add animation, transition effects
  3. Print: handouts, notes pages, full page, headers and footers

Lesson Note

A great presentation does not just display information. It guides the audience through a logical sequence, highlights the points that matter most, and leaves viewers with a clear takeaway. Presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or LibreOffice Impress gives you the tools to do exactly that, but the tools only work if you understand the principles behind them.
