The Organism In The Environment

Overview

No organism lives in isolation. Every species is part of a web of relationships with other living things and with the non-living environment around it. Understanding how populations interact with their habitats is the starting point of ecology.

In this lesson you will learn the key ecological terms, discover how to estimate population size using quadrats, and explore the abiotic and biotic factors that control where organisms live and how many of them there are.
