Inequalities

Overview

An inequality is like an equation, but instead of saying two things are equal it says one is greater or less than the other. That single change lets you describe ranges of values: speeds up to a limit, ages of at least a certain number, regions on a graph.

In this lesson you will represent and interpret inequalities, including on a number line, and (at Extended) construct and solve linear inequalities and represent them on a graph as regions.

  2. Construct, solve and interpret linear inequalities. (Extended only)
  3. Represent and interpret linear inequalities in two variables graphically. (Extended only)
  4. List inequalities that define a given region. (Extended only)
