Overview

Waves carry energy from place to place, whether they are ripples on a pond, sound vibrations in the air, or light crossing the vacuum of space. Describing them precisely requires five units that connect frequency, wavelength, speed, time period, and angle.

This reference covers the units the Edexcel specification lists for the Waves section: hertz, metre, metre per second, second, and degree. You will see how each unit fits into the wave equation and practise switching between them.
