Draw a histogram for the distribution.
The marks are grouped into equal class intervals of width 5, so the frequencies can be plotted directly against the true class boundaries. First convert each class limit to its class boundary by subtracting 0.5 from the lower limit and adding 0.5 to the upper limit.

Because every class has the same width, the height of each bar equals its frequency. The bars are drawn adjacent to one another (no gaps), with the class boundaries marked on the horizontal axis and frequency on the vertical axis.
Histogram of the marks scored by 35 students, plotted against class boundaries with adjacent bars; the modal class 11 - 15 has the greatest height (frequency 12).
The tallest bar corresponds to the class 11 - 15 (boundaries 10.5 - 15.5) with a frequency of 12, which is therefore the modal class of the distribution. The completed histogram above is the required diagram.
