What punishment did God give Solomon for his unwise policies?
Answer Details
After Solomon turned away from God and began to worship other gods, God decided to punish him by taking away most of his kingdom. However, God allowed Solomon's son to continue to reign over a smaller kingdom, consisting of only two of the twelve tribes of Israel, while the other ten tribes were given to Jeroboam, one of Solomon's officials. This resulted in the division of the kingdom into two parts, the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judah. Therefore, the punishment that God gave Solomon for his unwise policies was that the kingdom was torn from him and given to his servant.
