Andrew was a brother to Peter.
In the New Testament, Andrew and Peter are referred to as brothers. They were both fishermen from Bethsaida in Galilee and were called by Jesus to become his disciples. Andrew was the first disciple that Jesus called, and he then brought his brother Peter to Jesus. The two brothers became close associates of Jesus and were among his inner circle of disciples.
Throughout the Gospels, Andrew is mentioned several times, but he is not as prominent as his brother Peter. Nevertheless, he played an important role in the early Christian Church and was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus to be a witness to his life, death, and resurrection.
