It is a Drop Cap: an enlarged first letter of a paragraph that drops down and occupies two or more lines of text to decorate the start of the document.
(a)(ii) I. Steps to achieve the Drop Cap
- Select the first letter of the paragraph.
- Click the Insert menu.
- Click Drop Cap.
- Click Dropped.
(a)(ii) II. Steps to obtain the two columns
- Highlight the text to be arranged in columns.
- Click the Page Layout menu.
- Click Columns (or More Columns).
- Select Two with a line between, then click OK.
(b) Two objects that can be placed using the Insert menu in MS Word
(Other acceptable answers include chart, shape, clip art, header, footer, page number, symbol, text box, equation, hyperlink and word art.)
(c) Steps in CorelDRAW
(i) Insert a circular shape
- Click the Ellipse tool (or press F7).
- Hold down the mouse button and drag on the page to the desired size, then release.
(ii) Add the caption "Happy Birthday"
- Click the Text tool (or press F8).
- Click on the page.
- Type Happy Birthday.
(iii) Change the colour of the caption to red
- Select the typed caption with the pick tool.
- Left-click Red on the colour palette.
(iv) Fit the caption around the circular object
- Select the caption with the pick tool.
- Click the Text menu and choose Fit Text to Path.
- Point to the edge of the circle and click, so the text flows around the circular outline.
