But what is really going on underneath, and where is the line between a clever set of rules and a system that genuinely learns?
In this lesson you will learn what artificial intelligence means, the key characteristics that make a system count as AI, and how its core components, data, rules, the ability to reason and sometimes the ability to learn, work together. You will also meet machine learning and expert systems as two important examples.
