Interpret A Simple Statement Of Financial Position And Make Deductions From It, E.g. How A Business Is Financing Its Activities And What Assets It Owns, Sale Of Inventories To Raise Finance (constructing Statements Of Financial Position Will Not Be Assessed)

Akopọ

A statement of financial position is a photograph of a business on one day: everything it owns and everything it owes. Read it well and you can see how the firm is financed, what it owns, and whether it is on solid ground or shaky. You will not have to build one, but you must be able to read it.

In this lesson you will learn to interpret a simple statement of financial position and draw deductions from it: how a business is funding its activities, what assets it holds, and how selling inventories can raise finance.

Awọn Afojusun

  1. Interpret a simple statement of financial position and make deductions from it, e.g. how a business is financing its activities and what assets it owns, sale of inventories to raise finance (constructing statements of financial position will not be assessed)

Akọ̀wé Ẹ̀kọ́

Lenders, investors, suppliers and managers all read the statement of financial position to judge a firm's strength. Being able to interpret it, spotting how it is financed and what it owns, lets you make sensible deductions about risk and stability. The syllabus asks you to interpret and make deductions, not to construct one.
