The Team Project And Reflective Paper (Component 3)

Akopọ

The Team Project is the component where Global Perspectives stops being something you read about and becomes something you do. Working in a team of two to five, you choose a topic, find a local issue you can actually act on, research it from different perspectives, plan a response, and carry out a real action in your community. Then, on your own, you write a Reflective Paper of 750 to 1000 words about what happened, what you contributed, and what you learned. Together this is worth 35 percent of your grade, the largest single share.

This guide shows you how the two halves fit together: the team's shared documents (the Explanation of Research and Planning and the Evidence of Action) and your individual Reflective Paper, which carries the most marks of any single piece in the project. You will learn what a good action looks like, how roles and collaboration are assessed, and, above all, what genuine reflection sounds like, with an annotated exemplar and a model reflective paragraph you can learn from.

Awọn Afojusun

  1. Plan and carry out a collaborative team project with an outcome or action.
  2. Explain the research and planning behind the project and provide evidence of action.
  3. Write a reflective paper (750 to 1000 words) on your learning, collaboration and personal perspective.

Akọ̀wé Ẹ̀kọ́

The Team Project is the only component that assesses collaboration and carries the most marks for reflection, so it tests skills the written exam never can: working with others, taking real action, and learning honestly from how it went. It is also the component students most often underestimate. Many teams pour effort into the action and then dash off the Reflective Paper, not realising the Reflective Paper is worth far more marks than the entire team submission. Understanding where the marks sit changes how you spend your time.
