Reflection: Learning From Perspectives And Teamwork

Akopọ

Most subjects ask what you learned. Global Perspectives also asks something rarer: how your thinking changed, and why. That is reflection, and it is not a soft add-on but a graded skill in its own right (Assessment Objective AO2). Reflection is the honest, evidenced account of how researching an issue, meeting other people's perspectives and working in a team moved you from where you started to where you ended up.

This lesson shows you what good reflection looks like and how to write it. You will learn to reflect on how evidence and other viewpoints changed your mind, to reflect honestly on collaboration (what went well, what was hard, what you would do differently), and to justify your final personal perspective. These are exactly the skills the Reflective Paper rewards, so getting them right lifts one of the most heavily weighted parts of the course.

Awọn Afojusun

  1. Reflect on how research and engagement with different perspectives have changed your thinking.
  2. Reflect on what working as part of a team taught you about collaboration.
  3. Justify your personal perspective with evidence and reasoning.

Akọ̀wé Ẹ̀kọ́

Reflection is one of the three Assessment Objectives, AO2, and it is the heart of the Reflective Paper, the Personal Element of the Team Project. That paper is a short piece of roughly 750 to 1000 words in which you look back on your own learning and collaboration. Reflection also strengthens the Individual Report, where you explain how your view developed. In short, the marks here are not for what happened but for what you made of it.
