Proportion

Proportion describes how two quantities change together. In direct proportion, doubling one doubles the other; in inverse proportion, doubling one halves the other. Writing these relationships with algebra lets you find any unknown value precisely.
In this lesson (Extended tier) you will express direct and inverse proportion in algebraic form, find the constant of proportionality, and use the relationship to calculate unknown quantities.
