Use Of Online Communities
Muhtasari
Online communities bring together millions of people who share common interests, but every community serves a different purpose and audience. Knowing how each type works, what features it offers, and how organisations use community data for marketing gives you a practical understanding that Edexcel tests across both papers.
This lesson explores how online communities function on a global scale, the policies that keep them safe, and the responsibilities every member carries. You will learn to evaluate the risks of sharing personal information, recognise misrepresentation, and explain why acceptable-use policies matter.
Malengo
- Know the functions and target audience of different forms of online communities
- Understand the ways in which online communities are used to communicate and collaborate on a global scale
- Be aware of the purpose of responsible use and acceptable behaviour policies
- Understand how to stay safe online: cyber bullying, anonymity of others (misrepresentation), disclosure of personal information/location
