Discussion And Conversation Skills
Visão Geral
The talk is the part you can rehearse. The discussion is the part that shows whether you can really think on your feet. For six or seven minutes the examiner pushes at your topic, asks you to go further, tries out a different view, and waits to see what you do with it. The students who shine are not the ones with the slickest prepared lines; they are the ones who listen, take an idea somewhere new, and keep the conversation alive.
This lesson teaches the conversation itself. You will learn how to develop an answer rather than close it down with a single sentence, how to handle a challenge without crumbling or becoming defensive, how to build on what the examiner says, and how to keep your register appropriate throughout. An annotated exchange shows the difference between a flat response and one that earns marks.
