Opinions, Attitudes And Implied Meaning

Some reading questions ask for a fact you can point to on the page. Others ask for something the writer never quite says: how they feel, what they really think, the attitude behind the words. A text might never use the word 'annoyed', yet leave you in no doubt that the writer is. Reading at this level means catching opinions and attitudes, following meaning that is suggested rather than stated, and seeing how one idea connects to the next.
This lesson trains that deeper reading. You will learn to separate fact from opinion, to infer an attitude from the clues a writer leaves, and to follow a feeling as it shifts across a text. We model each move on short, realistic snippets, set a shallow reading beside a careful one, and finish with a full exercise-style task marked the way an examiner would mark it. This is the reading that separates a confident candidate from a literal one.
