Reflecting In Terms Of Creative Thinking And Decision Making With Regards To The Research Project

Six marks in the individual project cannot be earned by working harder, reading more or writing better. They are awarded for something no amount of research produces: an honest, detailed and insightful account of how you thought, what you decided, what you got wrong and what you can now do that you could not do in September. They are also the six marks most often thrown away, because almost every candidate writes the same three sentences about having enjoyed the project and learned a lot.

This lesson is about the two things the specification names here: critically evaluating and reflecting on your own performance and the skills you acquired, and critically evaluating and reflecting on your presentation evidence. Both are framed by the topic's own title, which is about creative thinking and decision making. You will reconstruct a real decision, rewrite a reflection that scores 1 into one that scores 6, and learn to read the record of your own presentation questioning as evidence rather than as an embarrassment.
