Visão Geral
The new system is built and tested, so now it has to take over from the old one in the real workplace. That handover is implementation, and how it is done matters enormously. Switch everything across overnight and you save money but risk disaster if the new system fails; run both systems together and you are safe but pay twice. Choosing the right changeover method for the situation is one of the most important decisions in the whole life cycle.
In this lesson you will learn the four methods of changeover: direct, parallel, pilot and phased. You will learn exactly how each one works and weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of each, so that, given a real scenario such as a hospital or a chain of shops, you can recommend and justify the most suitable method.
