Every breath of air, glass of water and living creature around us depends on a healthy environment, yet human activity is polluting that environment and pushing other species toward extinction faster than at almost any time in history. This is a different problem from climate change, even though the two overlap: here the focus is the dirt we put into the air, water and land, the wildlife we are losing, and the work of conservation that tries to protect what remains. You will work through the big debates as argument and counter-argument, line up realistic courses of action with their trade-offs, and pick up report and team-project ideas you could genuinely use.
