International Trade
Overzicht
No country can produce everything its people need. Some nations have oil but no timber; others grow coffee but cannot mine copper. International trade lets countries specialise in what they do best and exchange the rest, raising living standards on every side of the deal.
In this lesson you will explore why countries trade, how visible and invisible trade combine to form a balance of payments, what trading blocs and tariffs mean for businesses, and why exporters face challenges that domestic sellers never encounter. You will also examine the role of multinational corporations and calculate trade balances from given figures - skills that appear regularly on the Commerce papers.
