Overzicht
Numbers and processes are hard to grasp as raw lists, but easy to read as a picture. A column of survey results means little until it becomes a bar chart; a market share is abstract until it becomes a slice of a pie; a manufacturing sequence is a paragraph of dense text until it becomes a flowchart with clear boxes and arrows. For the graphic products designer, charts and flowcharts are everyday tools for turning data and procedures into instant, honest communication.
This note teaches the chart family the syllabus requires: histograms, pie charts, bar charts and line graphs, including when each is the right choice and how to construct and label it accurately. It then covers flowcharts for describing processes, operations and assemblies, with the standard symbols and the logic of branching decisions. Throughout, the emphasis is on choosing the form that represents the data truthfully and drawing it so a reader can extract the information at a glance.
