Solve Rational And Radical Equations
Overzicht
Some equations hide the variable inside a fraction or under a square root. Solving them means clearing the fraction or removing the root to reach an equation you can already handle. But these moves come with a catch: they can introduce false solutions that do not actually fit the original equation.
In this lesson you will solve rational equations (with the variable in a denominator) and radical equations (with the variable under a root). The essential final step is to check every answer in the original equation and discard any extraneous solution, the false answer the algebra can create.
