Shopping has changed more in the last two decades than in the previous two centuries. A customer in Lagos can now browse a London retailer at midnight, pay with a tap, and receive the parcel within days. E-commerce has rewritten the rules of where, when, and how goods change hands.
In this lesson you will explore the key characteristics of e-commerce, including website-based selling, the bricks-and-clicks model, and delivery logistics. You will examine how e-commerce reshapes supply chains, opens national and international markets, and affects the environment. You will also consider what makes a good e-commerce location and why it differs so sharply from traditional retail.
