Not everyone experiences the internet in the same way. While billions of people shop, learn, and socialise online every day, billions more have limited or no access at all. The gap between those who can use digital technologies and those who cannot shapes education, employment, healthcare, and even political participation across the globe.
In this lesson you will explore the digital divide, the causes and consequences of unequal access to ICT, and the ways in which less-restricted internet access is changing media, community life, and the way people socialise. These themes appear regularly in Edexcel Paper 1 discussion questions.
