The Role Of International Organisations
Overzicht
No single government can vaccinate the whole world, resettle every refugee, or lend money to every country facing a financial crisis. A web of international organisations exists to do jobs that cross borders: coordinating health responses, protecting children, sheltering the displaced, and lending to governments that cannot borrow anywhere else. None of them is neutral in the sense of having no politics attached; each is funded and governed by member states with their own interests.
In this lesson you will look at what the WHO, UNICEF and UNHCR actually do and how they are funded, distinguish long-term development assistance from emergency aid, weigh lending against grants, and see how ordinary citizens, not just governments, can get involved through volunteering and donation.
