Overzicht
Robots build cars, vacuum floors, assist surgeons and fly as drones. But what actually makes a machine a robot, rather than just an automatic appliance? The answer lies in a handful of shared characteristics: a physical body, sensors, a processor to decide, actuators to move, and a program to follow.
In this lesson you will learn what robotics means, the characteristics every robot shares, and the wide range of roles robots perform across medicine, industry, transport, agriculture and the home, together with the advantages and disadvantages of using them.
