Physics: Energy Resources And Energy Transfers: Units
Overzicht
Energy is the currency of physics, and like any currency it needs a unit before the numbers mean anything. The energy section leans on eight of them, and they are not eight unrelated facts: each one is built from the others in a way that you can reconstruct rather than memorise.
This lesson sets out the kilogram, joule, metre, metre per second, metre per second squared, newton, second and watt. You will see how the joule grows out of the newton, how the watt grows out of the joule, and how tracking units through a calculation catches a wrong answer before the examiner does.
Doelstellingen
- Use the following units: kilogram (kg), joule (J), metre (m), metre/second (m/s), metre/second2 (m/s2), newton (N), second (s) and watt (W)
