A rice grower flooding a paddy in Bangladesh and a giant wheat estate on the Canadian prairie look nothing alike, yet both can be read as the same machine of inputs, processes and outputs.
In this lesson you will learn the language geographers use to classify farms (arable, pastoral, mixed, subsistence, commercial) and the newer soil-free methods (hydroponics, aquaponics, aeroponics), then learn to describe any farm as a system.
