Word processing software is the tool you will use most often in ICT, and probably in every job you ever hold. From a simple memo to a multi-page report with embedded charts, understanding how to structure, format, and present text-based documents is a skill that examiners test in detail across the 4IT1 papers.
In this lesson you will learn how to enter and edit text accurately, apply formatting at character, paragraph and page level, build tables and columns, integrate objects from other applications, produce the seven standard document types the specification names, and set up a mail merge that pulls data from a spreadsheet or database to generate personalised letters.

- Produce documents in these document types: letter, report, newsletter, poster, leaflet, information sheet (fact sheet), memo
- Use standard conventions: salutation, complimentary close, date, subject, logo
- Use mail merge: mail merge from word processed, spreadsheet and database documents
