It draws a picture: an organisation chart that shows who reports to whom, who is responsible for what, and how an instruction travels from the boardroom to the shop floor. Read one well and you can see the whole shape of a company at a glance.
In this lesson you will learn to draw and interpret organisation charts, and to use the three terms examiners test most: levels of hierarchy, span of control and chain of command. You will see why a tall structure feels very different to work in from a flat one, and how each suits a different kind of business.
