This emphasizes the magnitude of the miracle that Jesus performed by raising Lazarus from the dead, as it was believed that the soul of a person would depart after three days, and there would be no hope of resurrection after that point.

After the death and resurrection of Jesus, the apostles went to different regions to spread the gospel and perform miracles in His name. When the apostles Peter and John heard about this, they went to Samaria and prayed for the believers, laying their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
