For each statement you decide which text it belongs to. The catch is that the right text almost never uses the words of the statement. The skill being tested is your ability to follow an idea through different words, not to spot matching vocabulary.
This lesson teaches the two moves that win these marks: scanning fast to find where an idea lives, and matching by meaning so that synonyms and paraphrase do not throw you. You will also learn to resist the traps, the texts that repeat a keyword from the statement but do not actually say the thing it claims. We model every move on short invented extracts, contrast a weak choice with a strong one, and finish with a full matching task marked the way an examiner marks it.
