In a democratic system, the separation of powers is a vital principle, ensuring that no one branch of government becomes too powerful. This principle establishes three separate branches of government: the legislative, executive, and judiciary. Each of these branches has its powers and responsibilities, and they check and balance each other to prevent any one branch from gaining too much power. This principle ensures that the government is accountable to the people and operates within the rule of law.
