Therefore, Christians are encouraged to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh, and to follow the example of Jesus Christ in all things.

David's victory over the Amalekites who raided Ziklag was due to his prayer in seeking the approval of God before pursuing them. After the Amalekites raided Ziklag and took all the women and children captive, David and his men were greatly distressed. However, David strengthened himself in the Lord and inquired of the Lord if he should pursue the raiders. God told David to pursue them, assuring him that he would recover all that was taken. David obeyed God's instructions, and they pursued the Amalekites. God fought for David and his men, and they were able to recover all that was taken and even captured more spoil from the Amalekites.

He advised the council to be careful in how they dealt with the apostles because if their teachings were of human origin, they would eventually fail. But if they were from God, then the council would be fighting against God, which would be futile.

The LORD told Moses that He would rain bread from heaven for the people of Israel to eat, but He instructed them to gather just enough for one day. The reason for this was to test their obedience and faith in Him. The people were not supposed to store up the bread for the next day, but some of them did not listen and kept the bread overnight. As a result, the bread became full of worms and stank. This showed that they lacked faith in God's provision and His ability to provide for them daily. Therefore, the answer is obedience and faith.

In the book of Amos, God expresses His displeasure at Israel's mistreatment of the poor and needy and their failure to follow His commandments. God knew that if the Israelites encountered war at this early stage, they might lose heart and return to Egypt. Therefore, He led them by a longer route through the wilderness, where they could learn and grow stronger before facing the challenges ahead.

The Angel of the Lord told Zachariah that a son would be born to him, and that the son would go before God in the spirit and power of Elijah. This means that the son would be a prophet who would prepare the way for the coming of the Lord, just as Elijah did in his time.
