Every mark on the Reading paper begins with one skill: understanding what a text actually says, and what it quietly suggests without saying. Some questions ask you to retrieve a fact that sits openly on the page. Others ask you to read between the lines and work out a feeling, a motive or an attitude the writer has only hinted at. The best candidates know, instantly, which kind of reading each question wants.
This lesson teaches you to do both with confidence. You will learn to pin down explicit meaning quickly and accurately, to infer implicit meaning from clues in the wording, and to prove every point with a short, precise reference to the text. We model each move on real exam-style snippets, show a weak answer beside a strong one, and finish with a full question marked exactly the way an examiner would mark it.
