The Process Of Economic Development
Resumen
Two countries can report almost the same income per person and still feel like different worlds to live in. One has schools within walking distance and a clinic that rarely runs out of medicine; the other has neither, even though its factories export goods worth billions. Economic development is the study of that gap: how national wealth is created, and whether it actually reaches the people who need it.
In this lesson you will compare countries at very different stages of development using real indicators, weigh up what free and fair trade can and cannot do for a poorer economy, and examine why international migration is both a development challenge and a development opportunity, for the people who leave, the people who stay, and the countries that receive them.
