Three ways of increasing the rate of cooling of a cup of hot tea:
- Increase the exposed surface area, for example by pouring the tea into a wider, shallower cup or into a saucer, so that more evaporation and heat loss can take place.
- Blow air across the surface (or place it in a draught/fan), which speeds up evaporation and convection by removing the warm layer of air/vapour above the tea.
- Lower the temperature of the surroundings, for example by placing the cup in a cool place or standing it in cold water, so that the temperature difference driving heat loss is larger.

Three ways of increasing the rate of cooling of a cup of hot tea:
- Increase the exposed surface area, for example by pouring the tea into a wider, shallower cup or into a saucer, so that more evaporation and heat loss can take place.
