Microprocessor-controlled Devices

Overview

A washing machine that starts itself while you are out, a fridge that reorders milk, a car that brakes for a red light on its own: tiny microprocessors hidden inside everyday devices now monitor and control the world around us. They free up our time and make machines smarter, but the same convenience can make us less active, more dependent and more exposed to hackers. Weighing those good and bad effects is exactly the kind of balanced judgement Cambridge wants you to make.
