Media And Communication
Übersicht
Never before has so much information reached so many people so fast. A single post can travel around the world in minutes, a citizen with a phone can break a news story, and a rumour can spread just as quickly as a fact. Media and communication shape what we believe, how we vote and whether we trust each other, which is why misinformation, the health of a free press, and the power of social-media platforms are among the most discussed global issues today.
This note teaches you to think about media the Global Perspectives way. You will weigh it from personal, national and global viewpoints, sharpen the vital skill of telling reliable information from misinformation, build balanced arguments about whether social media helps or harms democracy, and reason toward courses of action you could defend in your report or team project.
Ziele
- Explain why media and communication is an issue of global significance and describe its main causes and consequences.
- Compare personal, local/national and global perspectives on media and communication, with empathy and supporting evidence.
- Evaluate evidence, sources and arguments relating to media and communication, distinguishing fact, opinion, bias and vested interest.
- Develop a line of reasoning toward possible evidence-based courses of action on media and communication, and suggest report and team-project angles.
