Types And Methods Of Data Transmission
Übersicht
Every photo you send, every page you load and every message you receive is far too big to push down a wire in one go. So your device chops the file into tiny labelled parcels called packets, fires them across the network by whatever route is free, and the receiving device snaps them back into order. Understanding that journey is the heart of this topic.
In this lesson you will learn the three parts of a packet and what each one carries, how packet switching moves parcels through a network, the difference between serial and parallel transmission and between simplex, half-duplex and full-duplex, and how the USB interface uses a high-speed serial connection to link your devices. By the end you should be able to pick the right method for a given scenario and justify it like an examiner.
Ziele
- 1 (a) Understand that data is broken down into packets to be transmitted (b) Describe the structure of a packet (c) Describe the process of packet switching
- 2 (a) Describe how data is transmitted from one device to another using different methods of data transmission (b) Explain the suitability of each method of data transmission, for a given scenario
- 3 Understand the universal serial bus (USB) interface and explain how it is used to transmit data
